Funky Utopia {FunkyUtopia.com} was first launched in early 2003. Funky Utopia originated as a humble little website selling custom-made skirts to women of all sizes, all over the world. One skirt at a time, each handmade to the customer's design preferences and personal measurements.

Then, later that year, we had a great idea to expand the website to include handcrafted wares created by other independent artists. Soon enough, Funky Utopia was offering the work of over 50 indie artists. The shop was open until November of 2007. Almost 5 years of incredible memories and one helluva rewarding experience!

In August of 2008, Funky Utopia relocated from Knoxville, TN to sunny Bradenton, Florida. Inspired by our close proximity to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and Manatee River, the colorful landscape and the vibrant people in our lives, we revived Funky Utopia and relaunched the website!

Dabbling in the funky, and completely inspired by anything bohemian, Funky Utopia offers pieces handcrafted one at a time with strict attention paid to the tiny details. Making every item a true one-of-a-kind.

We believe in recycling, reusing and reinventing. Whenever possible we use carefully selected vintage, recycled or repurposed materials, giving new life to forgotten items. Going forward, our goal is to integrate organic cottons and sustainable fabrics into our collections. Additionally, each ShopFunkyUtopia.com order is shipped in recycled or recyclable/reusable packaging.

Speaking of shipping... We proudly use the United States Postal Service to ship all of our packages. Our reason? Quite frankly the way we see it, your Postal Clerk delivers to your doorstep every day like clockwork. We are simply adding another package to your everyday mail delivery. Versus scheduling an additional delivery route by a seperate delivery service. Fundamentally, at present this is as low-impact on our environment as we can make our shipping process.

Thanks for reading the short version of Funky Utopia's history!!!
